Life Membership

Port Albert Fishing Club's Life Membership is in recognition of a member or a couple that went far and beyond the norms of club administration.

Life Membership

The Life Membership category was not part of the original framework of the Port Albert Fishing Club when it was first established. However, as with many clubs and community organisations, it evolved over time as a way to formally recognise members whose dedication and service went far beyond the normal expectations of club administration.

Life Membership is reserved for those who have made an extraordinary contribution to the club, individuals who have invested countless hours, energy, and passion into supporting its growth, culture, and ongoing success.

Within the club’s history, two families stand out for their exceptional commitment: Butch Watt and Ann Watt, along with Henk Zillig and Jannie Zillig. All four were part of the club’s original inauguration in 1992 and played a foundational role in shaping the organisation during its formative years.

Their collective contribution was nothing short of remarkable.

They lived and breathed the club, dedicating themselves to virtually every aspect of its operation and development. From administration and events to competitions and community engagement, their tireless efforts helped build the strong and enduring club that members enjoy today.
